The City which is in a transition phase, cannot leave behind its historical past, nor can it take up the new look instantly.
Through this Blog on 'Madurai Diary' - I will throw light on the aspects that attracts attention of the people from all walks of life.
Wishing You all the Very Best

Dear Prof Punch
ReplyDeleteThanks a Million for being the First Person to Wish me on this Blogspot.
I am happy that 'Appas' has been effective to spread his Magic over the Internet as well.
Well and Truly, this Blogspot is seeing the Light of the Day on the Internet, since I wanted a froum to promote and be part of a Healthy Discussion / Debate on Many Social Issues that does not see the Light of the Day in our Regluar Mainstream Media - Frankly & Honestly!!!

dear uncle ....
ReplyDeletemy best wishes ...i am looking forward to read more on this blog .....
....I CANNOT RESIST REMEMBERING THE WORDS OF WALTER SCOTT 'BREATHES THERE THE MAN WITH SOUL SO DEAD ,WHO NEVER TO HIMSELF SAID,THIS MY OWN ,MY NATIVE LAND '...YOU DID MAKE A VERY SOULFUL BEGINNING .......
........VERY THOUGHTFUL OF U TO PUT TOGETHER THE THREE PILLARS OF MADURAI ...ITS RICH HISTORY ..MARVELOUS AESTHETICS AND HUMANE PEOPLE ...MADURAI IN ITS OWN RIGHT MAKES ITS CITIZEN PROUD ...FORGETTING ONE'S ROOTS MAKES ONE CLOWNISH AND INSECURE ....WELL IT ALSO APPLIES TO PLACES .....MANY PLACES HAVE LOST THEIR TRUE IDENTITY IN THEIR FRANTIC SCRAMBLE FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ...I AM GLAD THAT MADURAI HAS SUSTAINED ITS CHARM SO LONG ..AFTER ALL WHAT CAN BE MORE APPEALING THAN BEING ONESELF
..I WISH MADURAI STAYS ROOTED IN ITS FERTILE CULTURE WHILE IT BRANCHES OUT TO REACH GREATER HEIGHTS WITHOUT ALIENATING ITSELF FROM ITS SPIRIT .....
...GOOD WORK ...A BEAUTIFUL COLLAGE WITH A DEEP MEANING ...
REGARDS ,
JENNY
Dear Jenny
ReplyDeleteMany Thanks for your thoughts....Indeed those were really refreshing words!!!
Yes, I am amazed at the complexities that exist in the City of Madurai. The Triology that you have rightly pointed out in the form of 'History'....'Aesthetics'.....& 'Humane', are all hallmarks of this place, which has links with ancient times.
We can certainly try to explore some of these vital aspects in this blogpost.
Keep sending in ur valuable comments, which is enriching .....encouraging....and certainly laced with lovely words that's sweet.
Best Regards Always
Nicholas
